Our medical director and principal investigator Dr. Javier Sosa has been an innovator and a visionary in the wound care treatment and the prevention of amputation since the beginning of his career. In 2002 he established the first facility of hyperbaric treatment which at the time was the latest advance treatment available to the community of wound care, vein and dietetic ulcers, among other conditions. But since then he understood that there was more to be done, more treatments and more advance devices out there. That’s why after several years contacting companies, in 2015 along with his business administrator and partner, they were able to bring research clinical studies to the community from the United States.

Their first study was an antibiotic infusion for infected vein ulcers. Dr. Sosa and his team learned from that study all about the regulations, protocols and recruitment process. Study after study, him and his team became more familiarizes with everything related to the standards and regulations behind the clinical research study. They diversified their studies and created a vast network of referring doctors to work along with them. They were able to bring cancer studies, gastroenterology studies, kidney infections study, influenza, among others. The team became more knowledgeable and proficient providing accurate and clear data for each study that was assigned to our sites. 

Unfortunately, as their site reputation grew, our island Puerto Rico was hit with the devastation of Hurricane Maria. Because of the uncertainty, the company that they had partner with, decide to pull out leaving the patient population and the network of referring doctors with a void of new research and development. That need, was what the push that Dr. Sosa and his partner needed to create Clinical Research Management Group, Inc. A company created to continue providing access to the community that otherwise would not be able to receive.

Since then Clinical Research Management Group, Inc. has been able participated in several studies. Dr Sosa and his partners have been involved in budget and contract preparation with the big pharma’s, small companies and CRO’s around the world. Our strong network of eager doctors and our recruitment capabilities separates us from other sites. Our focus is to match the best suitable patient population for each study while gathering the best quality data management following the guidelines of each protocol. Our desire and determination to keep growing our reputation as the best research site in Puerto Rico has continue to open new doors and we are just getting started.
